You may remember that a few days ago I told you about something important and exciting happening in my life.
For a hint, I told you it started with a “M”.
Many readers made their guess about what it could possibly be. You can read their guesses here.
So today I’m going to tell you what this “M” word is. It is…
Moving! ![]()
Yes, moving to a new house. But that’s not all. Let me tell why…
You see, I’m moving to my own apartment, which means I’m going to live separately and independently from now on…
And THAT is something you don’t see anyone doing over here in Iran.
In Iran, young people (both girls and boys) don’t move out from their parents house to their own house. They live there until they are married and then go to their house.
Let me tell you this way, among ALL the people I know - from friends to relatives and everyone else - there is NO one who have done this.
So it’s been a real challenge for me to do this because it’s actually very unconventional here.
But I don’t care what people will say because I know I want to be independent and that is the right thing to do.
So wish me luck!
P.S. After I move there completely, I may post some pictures of the place here. So stay tuned!

Hey,
Congrats Laden.
Really you’re outstanding.
Here in India also it was unconventional once, but now times are changing. Anyhow I’m really proud of you for realizing the challenge confronted.
Moreover I’ve registered a domain name “www.miparsindia.com” Soon I’ll be launching the site. So wish me goodluck in advance and I also wish you goodluck now and in future endeavors.

That’s great!
Guess I guessed closely the other time (I said “Migrating”)
I wish I could do the same, but I’ll still frequent my old home from time to time because my Mom is still around and she needs me, and being the eldest in the family, I guess my siblings, especially my littlest sister, needs me.
Maybe my next big goal is to move to a new, bigger home that can better accommodate everyone in my family.

Ladan,
Congratulations!!
Knowing only a tiny bit about your culture, I realize this must be a BIG step for you and your family.
It once again illustrates, that you are a real entrepreneur, moving along the edges of your options, thus creating great breakthroughs.
You’re a great example for all people in your country.
I guess, despite the culture shock this may cause, your parents, in the end, will be proud of you.
And so am I.
Great going.

Mohamad,
Yes, you were close.
Hopefully that other “M” thing you said will come soon too.

Wow Ladan… that’s moving
I’m no serial k** or anything, but I haven’t stayed in the same place for more than two years, since I was 13, and after 20 years later, I’ve stayed in more than ten different houses (and types too: dorms, rooms, flat units, apartments, condos and landed house) in multiple cities, states, and even countries/continents. I’m pretty sure, I’ll find a new, and better house in less than 18 months from now.
all the best with the new place.

Congratulations Ladan!!
I always enjoy coming and reading your blog as it seems you’re always going beyond ‘boundaries’ that others would use as excuses to give up and let their dreams fade.
Hope you keep chasing those dreams and sharing with us your successes, they are great inspirations.
